Why You Don’t Know What I Do…

(and why no one else does either!)

“What do I tell someone who has the yips?”

“Where is your office?”

“Are you selling enough books?”

These are some of the questions I get on a regular basis…

The frustrating part is that these questions are not relevant to what I do.

This is partially self-inflicted and here’s why:
  • I started learning from and networking with experts in many different industries while I was playing baseball at UAB.
  • Being very intrigued by the ‘mental game’ of baseball and human psychology, I established a strong relationship with, and was then asked to co-author a book, with Brian Cain.
  • I interviewed experts in the baseball psychology and leadership development spaces, which evolved into Mental Game VIP and Leadership VIP.
  • I incorporated 2 LLC’s before I finished my collegiate career: Matt Morse Companies, LLC (hands-off coaching and consulting) and Kaifect, LLC (in the trenches digital marketing agency).
  • When I finished college, I was hired as a consultant to many different brands and companies, as well as being invited to speak around the world on a variety of topics.
  • Not many people understand what ‘entrepreneurs’ or ‘consultants’ do all day…
  • Many of my clients prefer to sign NDA‘s (non-disclosure agreements) where I do not discuss the work we are doing together.
  • Additionally, many of them pay a premium for exclusivity to prevent me from working with direct competitors.
  • I’ve been very committed to the process of learning from the best in the world, while also being in the trenches implementing and doing the work for my clients.
  • I’m a strong believer in overdelivering where my feet are… and therefore, haven’t shared much of my journey publicly, yet.
  • In my first 18 months out of college, I helped clients sell over $1,000,000 in products online.
  • It all started moving so fast and I knew being 100% committed to overdelivering for my clients was the only way to create real results and raving fans that would continue to grow my business.

Although I wore (and still do wear) many different hats, I love the diversity of projects and clients that I have the privilege to work with.

Here’s the bottom line…

I’ve noticed a significant trend of experts, authors, speakers, coaches, entrepreneurs, artists, etc… who are world-class when operating in their Max Impact Zone (i.e. speaking on a stage or writing), but are lacking when it comes to strategic business development and properly positioning themselves, marketing their products/services, etc…

At the same time, I’ve discovered my Max Impact Zone… which is equipping these individuals or brands with the tools they need to maximize their impact. I’ve always had entrepreneurial tendencies, been into technology and online marketing… But more recently, I’ve immersed myself into learning how to leverage that to help improve peoples’ lives.

Some say that I “make famous people more famous” and “turn nobodies into somebodies”…

(I don’t know about all that…. but I really enjoy helping people get their message out to more people.)

Others have referred to me as the “Millennial Whisperer.”

This is probably because I’ve helped bridge the gap of technology for the GenX & Boomer population.

Coach Bru said this:

Not sure what that means… but hey, I’ll take it 🙂

Essentially, I am a lifestyle and business coach equipping others with the tools and strategies they need to maximize their impact. I work with everyone from a high school coach/teacher who wants to write a book and get paid to speak, all the way up to Fortune 500 Companies who want to get 1% better…

Although I’ve had to turn down a significant amount of business to building my personal brand, I believe now is the time to do so. I must start walking the talk.

What do I mean by walk the talk?

Well, here are a few examples:

  1. I have helped many entrepreneurs and large companies create clear marketing funnels that allow them to better serve their customers, yet I wasn’t doing that myself.
  2. I’ve launched more than 50 products in the past 2 years for various clients, but have no products of my own.
  3. I’ve written thousands of e-mails, created thousands of social media posts, edited hundreds of podcasts, recorded hundreds of videos, created and edited thousands of graphics for my clients… but have never e-mailed my own list, hosted a podcast or Facebook Live broadcast, etc…

Well, it’s the start that stops most people.

So, here we go…

I am excited to take you along for the ride. I’ve learned so much and want to share with you exactly what you need to start getting results and living the life you were created to live!

If all of this confused you even more… I’m about to clarify for you exactly what it is that I actually do…

Continue to ‘…What I Actually Do”

  1. Because of the diverse amount of projects, clients, and speaking engagements I’ve had in a short amount of time, very few people understand what I really do.
  2. Many authors, speakers, coaches, and entrepreneurs are extraordinary in their Max Impact Zone, but struggle when it comes to business and marketing.
  3. Building your personal brand is essential to maximizing your impact in the world.
  4. It is the start that stops most people.
  5. I’ve had the privilege to be surrounded by great coaches and mentors from a very young age who have helped me discover my unique abilities and how I can help people: through brand buildingonline marketing, business development, and lifestyle design.

P.S. Here are my answers to the questions above:

“What do I tell someone who has the yips?”

  • I’m not an expert in that area so I would recommend finding someone who is to help.

“Where is your office?”

  • My team and I all execute the mission remotely. I have an office at our home in Franklin, TN.

“Are you selling enough books?”

  • Not sure… I haven’t really paid much attention because I’ve been so committed to serving my private coaching clients and helping them sell their books 🙂
